BioWelcome to my hobby journal. Please note that I sometimes do jewelry give-aways around here. It always pays to keep in touch with me! It all started when I decided to learn to make jewelry for future Christmas gifts. My goal was to start working on this in the summer months. I figured that I would sign up for a jewelry-making class and would commit to the one hour commute. I began, instead, in February, and learned at home. I taught myself with help from the internet. I then set a goal to sign up with Etsy and start up a shop in the summer. I set it up in late May. In what I'm told is a very slow season for online selling, especially with the present fuel and food costs, I've surpassed my thoughts on the number of sales that I thought I would receive in such a short time. I've been getting sales and requests for custom orders. Not bad for a hobby job that fuels my fire and also allows me a way to give back. I find that I am enjoying this opportunity to give a portion of my proceeds to charity. It's a win-win situation.
During the majority of the year, I am a speech-language pathologist in the school system. I love what I do in that field. Challenges at every turn.
Likewise, I love what I am doing with my jewelry. Creative sparkings at ever turn.
