Meet the Florenza Twins
You may remember my recent excitement in finding a duplicate of my favorite vintage piece. No? Well I can nearly bet that [info]deltamiss has a vague recollection. At any rate, while I finally caved to creating a bracelet with the first piece, now listed in the shop, I finally took some Sunday afternoon time to design a bracelet to keep for myself. It was then that I discovered the label stamped into the back of the pin, and decided to investigate.

Manufacturer History 1940's - 1981

Florenza Is The Mark Of Dan Kasoff, Inc., Based In New York City. The Company Is Known For Decorative Desk Accessories In Addition To Jewelry. The Floenza Mark Was First Used In February 1956. Florenza Jewelry Has Distinctive Designs Inspired By Renaissance Revival Jewelry Which Was So Favored During The Victorian Era. The Jewelry Is Often Intricately Designed And Exhibits Excellent Metalwork, Frequently In Antiqued Gold-Tone, Ornamented By Distinct And Superior Rhinestones Of Pastel, Frosted, And Aurora Colors. Simply Put, Florenza Jewelry Is Characterized With Quality Workmanship, Quality Materials And Quality Designs. The Closure Of The Firm Was Necessitated In 1981 When Larry Kasoff, The Son Of The Founder Was Seriously Injured.

~End of snippet~

Florenza, by the way, comes from Kasoff's wife's name, Florence.

And now I present to you the fraternal, mirror image Florenza twins.

Worked into crocheted chains of copper and peridot:

My own keeper, made into a cuff (from other vintage findings):

WOW! It turned out to be GORGEOUS! :D

We gotta thank the Florenza dudes for much of it, but thanks.

So have you checked the backs of your blings, LonnyeSue? You could have Florenzas amid your tree.

I never had until you suggested it. Nothing on the ones I could take off easily. And even with my cheapo magnifying glass, I couldn't see much. Some have markings, but I can't tell what they are. Hahahahaha!

Well thank you, C. (Love your party hat!)

I'm grumbling a bit about the charms order for your bracelet. I am half afraid that the supplier took a little break from her shop but failed to post a notice about it.

I even messaged her, yesterday, to let her know that while my transaction went through to her, it doesn't show up at Esty as being received on her end.

No reply, which means that she's not "around" or her computer's down, or whatever.

And we are soooooo snowed in up here that my plans to check off several appointments and errands in Bismarck for today were nixed. NO TRAVEL ADVISED. More snow!

So just want you know that I'm "on it" but in limbo. If it weren't for the one charm being an apple (which is pretty symbolic to the Twilight book) I would otherwise be all set to show you and then list the bracelet for you for sendoff (though no mail for today, given the weather!).

I'll stay in touch with you. If worse comes to worse, I can always mail you the other charms with jump rings attached, if we end up needing to send you the bracelet before deadline.

Cyndi, now I'm just peeved at the charm supplier. After still no word back to me as to the status of my order (it cleared Paypal, so she must have taken the money, easily enough), I decided to search through her sales and feedback records, this a.m.

While she has thousands of positive feedback replies, there are now some hit and miss negative remarks, three just as recently as yesterday. It seems that this communication from this supplier is not a priority of hers.
Her overall two year 100% positive record has now recently fallen to 98%.

Track record shows that I could end up getting these two weeks to a month later, if at all.

Soooooooooo...where to go from here?
The wolf charm...not so important.
The apple charm...it's just necessary, if we've got the other charms in there.

Tell you what, I'll see if I can fashion a spiral apple--hey, I can do hearts and trees, so why not an apple?

I'll be in close touch. This is important to me, for you.

I say fashion the apple of spiral that sounds perfect because spirals are my favorite symbol...makes it much more personal.

What a terrible buying experience for you! No worries for me though..it'll get here in due time!

I sent this three times so you would get it!!

LOL...I'll have to check the other spots to see if I got it there, as well. I recall another LJ friend saying that comcast messed up her email stuff. I don't have comcast, but wonder if LJ is not connecting well with several places; hence our problem.
I know that I'm not getting email notices on all replies to me around her.

Anyway, I shall fiddle..I know that you like spirals (I remember), and if it looks good, I'll add and show you. Otherwise, there is still a chance that I'll get to Bismarck on Friday...needs list may dictate that. If I do, I'll make a Hobby Lobby visit...they have apples, unless they're out.

Meanwhile, enjoy ushering this fabulous upcoming year!

Thank you, Dawn, and sweetly so. Still learning and growing. And it sooooooooooo distracts me from my other work, but it's bliss!

(((Schesec)))

I need to drift back over the message boards again and stay awhile! Meanwhile, I'm so thrilled to see your message over here.

Thank you! Loved your holiday gathering pics, by the way.

Happy New Year!

Bling! Very pretty bling!

By the way, I'm wearing my red earrings now, and I love them. I don't really have red clothes (one top), but I do wear lots of black, so I find all kinds of excuses to wear them!
gracedlace[info]gracedlace on January 2nd, 2009 01:34 pm (UTC)
You bet, and thanks!

Hey, and then there is gray with red, cream or white with red, metallics with red ;-).

Glad that you are liking them. :-D
